One of the first things in which I was interested and applied in creating artworks was “space”. In the initial period, the space was derived from nature, for instance, the empty space in a landscape or the immense vastness of the sky and the sea, a seascape and other things. As time passed, the spaces that captured my interest shifted to those of other things both abstract (thoughts, emotions, feelings) and concrete (objects, utensils, shapes and forms).
I believe that space is like an area that can contain energy and the opportunities to instigate possibilities infinitely.
For the current works, I still focus on working with space as the main element, focusing on exploring the neglected empty spaces of objects, belongings, utensils (concrete) or opportunities (abstract) that have become out of order and valueless through humans’ consumption activities. This is done by trying to review and search for substances, taking the trial-and-error approach, changing statuses and changing utilities in order to turn these valueless things into linguistic communicating instruments, and this is what I am contemplating and training myself to practice and my reaction to society in various aspects.
