E-suwan chali

Born into a family that grew rubber trees, Esuwan has been binding trees since he was a little boy, a career that has been carried on since his grandmother's time. He was trained in all the skills required to maintain a rubber farm, including cutting and tapping the trees. He was raised and supported on the blood, sweat and tears from selling rubber.

The story of rubber is not only picturesque images of tall trees lining up in a winding, or images of his parents walking up to the farm in the morning. Esuwan also tried to convey his family's tiredness and the economic insecurity in the hardship of growing rubber trees. The installation works done by Esuwan is not meant to duplicate the rubber farm, but also to act as a model of the feelings and emotions from his family and himself.
